If you were to describe Christianity in one line, what would you say? What is a relationship with Jesus all about? What would your "one liner" be...
"Christianity is all about RULES!!!"
"Christianity is all about grace and forgiveness."
"Christianity is all about..."
If you were to ask me what Christianity is all about, I'd say it's about DOING HARD THINGS. Taking my relationship with Jesus, the power of the cross of Christ, and doing what's HARD FOR ME. Every day, waking up with an expectation of Jesus helping me do something a little harder today than yesterday.
In Matthew 5, Jesus gives THIS EXACT CHALLENGE in a brief section of the Gospels called the Sermon on The Mount. In just a few verses, Jesus speaks with a handful of his disciples where he challenges them to DO HARD THINGS..."blessed are the meek, peacemakers, those that hunger and thirst for doing the right things, etc." Then He describes exactly how GOD RESPONDS when we take a step out of our comfort zones and DO THESE HARD THINGS!
We here at Oneighty are SO EXCITED to see how God will honor this six week study of the Sermon on the Mount...I truly hope you can make EVERY WEEK!
