10/07/09 | Philippians - A Fall Semester Study


Life can be tough.  Have you ever found yourself in a situation that tested your endurance, patience, even happiness?  Did you find out how to get through?  And in the middle of it, where was God?

Over the next semester, Oneighty will be going through Paul's letter to the Philippians.  Paul will be showing us why he is able to be happy, even through suffering, even in prison, and how he has deep contentment, whether in prosperity or poverty.  He will show us why he can say, "Have joy!" when all the things that might bring us happiness are crumbling around us.  And he will show us why real happiness only starts when we take our eyes off our circumstances and look to the brutal, bloody, cross of Christ.

The Christian life will be painful.  The Christian life must be joyful.
